01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
At selva, the coffee menu invites you to explore how origin and roast shape the cup. One option is Mayavinic, made with organic JAS-certified fair-trade beans grown by Maya Indigenous people in Chiapas, Mexico, and roasted in-house. A diner who tried it iced described it as light and clean-tasting. Choose it hot, iced or as café au lait, then settle on the beans you would like to try. The original dark-roast blend, made with green beans from Chiapas, is also available hot or iced. Some diners have noted that the staff carefully explained the differences in roast, which may help if you would like to discuss your preferences before choosing.
For a morning visit, diners have reported enjoying the breakfast set, which comes with bread, house-made jam and fruit. One guest was pleased to find fruit alongside the bread and jam; it is an option for a leisurely breakfast, rather than simply stopping in for a coffee. Tea is served in ways suited to the leaves: fragrant Darjeeling as straight tea in a pot, and Assam as a mellow, full-bodied milk tea, also served in a pot. It is an appealing alternative when coffee is not what you fancy, or when you want a quiet cup after a meal.
